Heartline,

an artist support platform, and a collective of independent art workers.

Heartline is unifying force.

We are curators, authors, art critics, cultural workers, translators, researchers. We join forces and mutualise our networks to come in support of artists irrespective of their age or career level in the professional development of their artistic practices.

Heartline is for all artists who need advice, insight, a listening ear, or a few words and for the cultural structures that support them.

Heartline is a place of encounter promoting benevolence, solidarity between cultural workers, and personal guidance to artists.

Heartline
is political.

The contemporary art system often forces art workers to work as freelancers. Positions in cultural institutions and artistic structures are rare in comparison to the number of people involved in the field. As a result, we create our own artistic projects, program exhibitions, write, produce knowledge and create artworks, we struggle in organizations, we actively and unfailingly participate in the development of the arts sector. Our situations are constantly changing, as are our revenues.

We have created Heartline to organize ourselves in order to manage our own working conditions and promote an important, yet invisible, part of our profession as cultural workers: artist support.

We have created Heartline to defend a certain vision of our professional paths: the democratisation of the access to art, the decompartmentalization of disciplines, the valorisation of all artistic scenes, as well as emancipation and empowerment through solidarities.

Heartline was founded in 2024 by Anne Bourrassé and Elisa Rigoulet.

After more than ten years of experience in the field of contemporary art in France and internationally, they decided to join forces on the basis shared values (work ethic, inclusivity and feminism), and in reaction to the working conditions of their professions.
